The Women's Acupuncture Center serves Howard, Baltimore, Anne Arundel, Prince Georges, Carroll and Montgomery Counties; Including the cities of Clarksville, Columbia, Laurel, Ellicott City, Fulton, Elkridge, Catonsville, Olney, Jessup, Sykesville, Woodstock, Mt. Airy, Owings Mills.

Janet J. Althen, M.Ac., L.Ac., Dipl.Ac. is the founder of The Women’s Acupuncture Center.  She received her acupuncture degree from the TAI Sophia Institute and is a member of the Maryland Acupuncture Society, the National Commission of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and the American Association of Oriental Medicine.

She is a professional member of RESOLVE, the national infertility organization, a distinguished alumni of Howard Community College, and has been featured in Baltimore Magazine.   Janet has completed an internship with Dr. Randine Lewis, nationally recognized acupuncturist, infertility expert and author of The Infertility Cure.   She is one of the few acupuncturists in the country specially trained to treat male and female infertility.

Janet’s passion is working with women.  She says, “It is my intention to help the women in this community be as healthy as possible so that they can be influential, powerful and purposeful in their families and communities.”

Healing women...one by one is her mission.

“The feminine energy is important.  My work with women is the result of a personal passion to bring forth the healing of the feminine through nurturing the feminine.”
